Congratulations on your new job! Where will you be working?

Thank you, I'll be working at Marfeel, a platform to help bloggers and content creators to position and optimise their publications and their announcements. It's all been so fast, I'm only 20 years old and after completing the 5 month course with Ubiqum, I've already got a job as a Developer!

What were you doing before you signed up to the Java Web Developer course at Ubiqum?

I studied economics and then went on to do a couple of internships, one in a marketing company, where I discovered programming and started to investigate a bit about how backend works. I was looking for a practical way to learn programming and that was when I discovered the concept of bootcamps.

Why did Ubiqum stand out as the best choice when looking for a bootcamp?

I looked at one other bootcamp here in Barcelona but the course was very short and I was looking for something longer and more immersive. As I had no prior experience, I liked that at Ubiqum you have more hours of training and you don’t need any previous experience.
As my goal was to ultimately get a job as a Developer, the high job placement rate appealed.

Do you think the "learn by doing" methodology has been effective?

This methodology was ideal for me - learning practically is what works. The mentors don’t do the work for you, you have to try to find the solution yourself and in this way, when you crack it, the feeling you get is so much more satisfying and what you’ve learned you know you won’t forget. If you don’t learn in this way and instead are only shown how to do something or have others doing it for you, when you start work you’re not going to be capable of working autonomously. The course's objective is to make you employable in the IT and tech sector and it definitely achieves that.

Why would you recommend Ubiqum?

I’d recommend Ubiqum for the motivating, positive environment, and more importantly, for the content of the course. It takes complete beginners from zero to being able to work independently on programming projects you never thought you would be able to do.
