What were you doing before signing up for our course?

I was working in Sales where I was in charge of creating small programs in excel and collecting feedback and noting revenue, etc. It was here that I became interested in programming. I thought if I learned how to do something more advanced with excel, like Java, JavaScript, Ruby, I could create something much greater than just a simple database. I started learning Java in my free time, and at Ubiqum, had the opportunity to really develop these skills.

What was your main concern before starting?

I wasn’t sure it was possible to learn to program in five months, but when I look back at what I knew then and what I know now, it’s very impressive.

Why did Ubiqum Code Academy stand out as the best choice?

Basically, Ubiqum was my number one choice in Barcelona due to the great online reviews it had. Aside from that, I really liked the combination of languages it offered and that you studied both front and back-end, as other bootcamps only offered front-end. I really got a handle on Java by doing this course, so prefer back-end, personally.

Do you think our “Learn by Doing” methodology has been effective?

I liked it, it motivates you to learn and when you learn something you actually remember it. The only thing is that it can sometimes take you hours to find the solution. Though the course is over, I’m continuing to learn all that I can on my own.

Would you recommend Ubiqum Code Academy, and if so, why?

If you have zero knowledge of programming and want to change careers, this is a good place to start. You progress really quickly and gain a very solid knowledge base in a short amount of time.
