What were you doing before signing up for this course?

Before starting the course, I was working in the commercial sector. Then I got the opportunity to start at Ubiqum and took it.

What motivated you to start coding?

It was something that I had never before but had always been curious about. Sometimes I would look at my friend’s code, and it seemed like a language from a different planet. I decided to sign up for the course just to see if I could learn how to code, and now it’s something I know I like.

How did you find us and why did you decide to sign up for our course?

I first heard about Ubiqum from one of my mother’s friends. She recommended it to me so I could increase my job opportunities.

What was the most difficult part of the course?

The most difficult part of the course was learning how to program without having any prior knowledge. The mentors told me from the beginning that there would be hard moments when I wouldn’t know how to solve something, but you just have to have patience and do things little by little.

Do you think our methodology works?

It has worked for me. I started from zero without even knowing what an HTML file was. A short time later, I’ve been able to learn how to create an entire webpage using HTML and CSS. If you give it your all, things will work out in the end.

Why would you recommend Ubiqum?

What I liked the most during the course is that we worked like a team, and whenever we ran into something difficult, we would move forward by working together. This created a sense of community and it helped you be more productive and motivated to find solutions. You advance faster as a team than you do alone.

What are your plans after finishing your course at Ubiqum?

In the last two weeks of the course, I received offers for several freelance projects. On two of these projects I had the opportunity to create web pages for two architecture studios. Now I want to find more job offers in industry and keep learning how to code.

What advice would you give someone who is thinking of changing careers?

It’s a course that goes hand-in-hand when a career. Apart from giving you good job opportunities, the course helps you learn a lot, and you can do it without knowing anything at all before. At first it’s not easy, but once you find your rhythm, the learning process becomes easier.

Did you have any doubts before starting the course? How do you feel now?

I started the course without knowing anything, and now I’m very happy to have had the opportunity to learn so many new things and improve myself. Coding teaches you a new language that you may never completely master but having a solid foundation is the most important thing to understand it and keep improving.

How would you describe your Ubiqum experience?

From not knowing how to save an HTML file to working with different freelance projects and being in talks to several companies for job offers, this has been a huge step for me. My experience at Ubiqum has let me give a drastic improvement to my professional life.
