What were you doing before Ubiqum?

I had started a software marketing company, and I was in charge of sales and marketing.

What motivated you to start learning how to code?

I was in a situation where I was working with a software company and I couldn’t understand the programmers, which made finishing projects difficult. I needed a level of technical knowledge that I didn’t have.

Why did you decide to sign up for Ubiqum?

I was trying to find an intensive program. I usually have to work, so I had a block of time that I wouldn’t have in the future. I needed to learn everything that I could in that time.

What did you find difficult in the course?

The JavaScript module was difficult when we started, but in the end there was nothing I couldn’t learn if I dedicated enough time to it.

Why would you recommend Ubiqum over other similar programs?

They will prepare you for what the market wants. Companies are looking for a capacity to learn, and you will be able to show them the projects you completed in the course. In other courses, you will learn the language, but you will not be able to do something new by yourself.

Do you think like a developer now?

My way of thinking is completely different. When I have to read code or I get a project, I just grab a piece of paper and think about how to approach it.

What are your plans when you finish the bootcamp?

I have already started to collaborate with various companies as a freelancer, teaching them how to automate software sales by using HTML and scripts.

Have you gotten a job interview?

Yes, I have an interview to be in charge of the Spanish market for a software company that creates Front-End Content Management Systems.

What advice do you have for someone who’s thinking about changing their career?

I came from a non-technical background, and I wanted to make a change. You have to be willing to work in an intensive form. During those three months, you have to dedicate yourself to learning, and it is a new way of thinking. That’s what you need to be a programmer.

Did you have any doubts before starting Ubiqum? How do you feel about it now?

I had doubts. I already had a career, and the opportunity cost of time was a lot. I needed something that would be intensive that would be give me the most out of the time I had. In the course, I learned how to think in a new way in a short amount of time, which was ideal.

Describe your experience at Ubiqum.

It has been a step where I have seen my way of thinking change, and now I can understand most conversations on a technical level. I am very happy with the step I took at Ubiqum.
