What were you doing before Ubiqum?

I had studied visual design. I was looking for a job as a designer and I was very interested in digital design. Jobs were asking me for programing experience, so I started the course to compliment by design skills.

What motivated you to start learning how to code?

I had done some HTML and CSS while at university and then coding in general started to interest me. Since I wanted to focus on web design, this seemed interesting to me.

What did you find difficult during the course?

The JavaScript module was the most difficult one. It was the most different material and the most abstract for me, maybe because I come from from a design background. It can be very frustrating when things don’t work out for you but when they work out in the end, it is very satisfying.

What have you gained from the course? Does it work?

Why would you recommend Ubiqum?

I like the “learning by doing” methodology a lot. It’s “learning by doing” but they never leave you completely alone. You always have help.

What are your plans when you finish the bootcamp?

I am working a job in User Experience. If that doesn’t work out, I am also interested in Front End but I’m trying to focus on User Experience.

What advice do you have for someone who’s thinking about changing their career?

You should try it; there’s nothing to lose. Also, sometimes you don’t even have to completely change careers. If you want to start a new business, knowing how to make a web page is essential.

Did you have any doubts before starting Ubiqum? How do you feel about it now?

I wasn't sure if they would pick me, but I was never very afraid of the course.

Describe your experience at Ubiqum.

Intense. It’s short, but you do a lot of things. Aside from learning how to code, they also give you many skills so you can keep learning and find a job.
