Students work on authentic problems with an experienced mentor as their guide. Mentors don’t lecture but rather help students learn and develop skills as relevant to the work they are doing. Mentors provide in-depth feedback on student projects and make recommendations for improvement.
You work online, attend regularly scheduled meetings and make appointments with your mentor just as you would do with a real-world supervisor. Students will attend part time (15 hours per week) for 30 weeks.
Job Ready Skills
Through this program you will receive:
During the certificate program students will master many data analytic techniques. Each technique is taught within a business value framework and can be applied to almost any data set. We call this a Story Centered Curriculum.
This program is for students with some experience with numbers / statistics. A University Degree is preferred but not compulsory. But be prepared for a rigorous, challenging program that requires consistency, discipline, and accountability. By the end of this program, you will have the skills to switch careers and become a Data Analyst.
Students will be “working” for Blackwell Electronics as data analysts using the open source WEKA machine learning package. The student’s job is to use machine-learning techniques to investigate patterns in Blackwell’s sales data and provide insight into customer buying trends and preferences.
The work in Blackwell Electronics continues. Now, the objective is to apply the learned methods to create predictive models.
In this course, the students will use Weka y Machine Learning to predict what new products the sales team should incorporate to its portfolio to obtain more profitability.
Students will learn to use the R statistical programming language to perform visualizations, then to generate descriptive statistics and predictive models using time series regression techniques and statistical classifiers. Students will present the results to the CEO, explaining strengths and weaknesses of the approaches that were implemented and making suggestions for further improvement.
The application process takes three steps.

I love analytics!
I’m the Data Analytics & Big Data Business Line Manager (that’s long man…) at Ubiqum, where I help our bootcamp students to overcome with success the challenges of the course. We work with various business cases with a 100% learning by doing methodology.
Previously, I developed my career as a classical piano performer working with Alba Ventura at Conservatori Superior del Liceu, as well as teaching piano for eight years to people of all ages and levels. During that time I was selected as a speaker by TEDxYouth Barcelona, where discussed the challenges of performing classical music.
My experiences across Analytics, eCommerce and as a professional pianist have driven me to to the conclusion that creativity is an answer to our professional and personal life challenges. There is no one solution to things!
I’m always happy to connect with other people here or on linkedIn. Shoot me a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
My passion is to assist others to develop their full potential. I work as educator, mentor and coach. I assist people to get the goals they pursue in their personal and professional life. The key elements I work with others are: personal development, emotional intelligence, communication skills, creativity & entrepreneurship.
Education is much more than teaching. After more than 15 years of experience as educator, I believe that learning happens with motivation, hands-on experience, emotional impact, collaboration with others & reflection. These are the ingredients of my courses.
As engineer & professor, I have promoted innovation in education, designing project-based learning courses and mentoring in Story-Centered Curriculum. I also promoted the transformation of engineering education. As a researcher, I investigated how to make computers learn (machine learning, data mining, data analytics). And personally, I am committed to my own learning.
As coach, my coaching sessions are built on the understanding of people as physical (body), emotional (feelings), mental (mind, language), and spiritual (meaning) beings. My workshops are designed to produce effective change in others’ professional and personal life. These include: a) communication skills, b) creativity, i.e., developing the own creative potential beyond a list of creativity techniques, c) personal development and emotional intelligence, among others.
